NAMETAB ZORRO
"Rooney " is out again having his third race of his young life, an A3 at Thurles on Friday night. Drawn in Trap 4, he will need to exit the traps a bit better than his previous 2 races, as he cuts in very tight on the corners. He needs to learn the game, as he is a clumsy dog at present, and he needs to learn to avoid other dogs. I think this dog could be very good once he has learned the basics, but only time will tell. A very hot race, with the winner recording 28.88!!!!!. Rooney beaten into 3rd place by a neck, but he is still very green. Only 3 races run and going from an N2 to and A3 is a huge step up for a young pup, but we are confident he is going the right way. A trial at Shelbourne Park is scheduled shortly.

SEMI FINAL OF THE ONLY GREYHOUNDS N2 STAKE
This certainly will be an excellent semi final, and the heat of the night. It has the 4 fastest dogs of the first round in this heat. Rooney is drawn where he needs to be in Trap 3, but there is serious pace all around him. The main thing will be to qualify for next weeks final. Well, the luck deserted us last night, as he was stopped 3 times in running. Im looking forward to Rooney learning the game, and would hope to see him at Shelbourne Park in the not too distant future

NAMETAB ZORRO

"Rooney " is having his first ever race on Friday 9th May at Thurles. he is in my own Sponsored stake ONLYGREYHOUNDS.COM for N2 dogs, He has drawn Trap 1, which is a slight concern, as he is a middle runner, but thats what we go so we will hope for a bit of early pace from him to clear the first bend with no trouble. A little slow away from Trap 1, but by the first bend he was tight up on the rail, and when a gap appeared he was through it like a shot. He changed gears along the back straight, and again on the run in, to win by 7 lengths in the fastest time of the night of 29.28.

NAMETAB APACHE
"Jack" Oct 06 dog, is now over the Kennel Cough, and is a picture of health. He is never going to be a world beater, but he gives his best every time, is clean and quiet, never been injured, and I reared him from 4 months of age. Given regular racing, he will find more time. Little " Jack " will run at Perry Barr sales on Monday 19th May, but has already been sold to a Trainer at the track. I will follow his races, and still be able to look at him run on the BAGS meeting. Good luck little fellow, run well.

NAMETAB APACHE
"Jack" is in his second race of his life, an A8 at Thurles on Friday 25th April. He is drawn in Trap 2, which is perfect for him. I have been giving him very special 1 to 1 treatment for the last 5 weeks, and he has been out of the cough for 6 weeks now. He is very well in himself, and now its up to him. All I am asking is a good run from him, win lose or draw.

TRADGEDY
It is with regret that I report the passing of OKEE DANCER at Clonmel last night. I wasnt at the track last night, but the owner informed me that OKEE had broke his back during a collision at the first bend, in his semi final, and was PTS. He was a lovely dog, with no bad habits at all. He is pictured here with his proud owner, Benny Mahoney, before he even raced. 3 of us reared him from a pup, and we always thought he would be something decent. OKEE was buried in the field where he was reared, so we will always look at the spot, and remember him with fondness. R.I.P. OKEE, it was a privilige to have known you.

NAMETAB APOLLO

I collect " Gilly " from his breeder, Johhny Moyles ( pictured )today, and I am very pleased indeed with him. John has always ranted on about how good he thinks this litter will be, and particularly " Gilly ", as being the best he has ever reared. He was the boss of the litter from the outset, and I had the pick of 2 blue dogs at 6 months of age. I chose " Gilly " because he seemed fearless, even at that age.
He has only been on the lead twice, and that time was very short. He travelled in the van with no problems, and will now be kennelled with a bitch, for the first time in his life.
I am very pleased with him, and this will be my third dog that I have had from John. He weighs around 75 pounds, and has a big woolly coat on him. Trevor Connors, will start to school him, and in time, he will go to Liam McCormacks kennels. All being well, I would expect him to have his first race around September. I have already refused an offer for him, so heres hoping he goes on to great things.

NAMETAB ZORRO

" Rooney" had his second official mark on his card at Thurles last night, in a 2 dog sprint trial. In his first official trial at Clonmel on 28th Dec, he recorded a winning time of 30.66, so I was keen to get a sprint trial on his card as well. A big dog weighing 78 pounds, he has now won both of his trials, and I am looking forward to this dog progressing nicely. He has been reared by myself and a colleauge, and has wanted for nothing. With his size, I have also been very patient, and not rushed him along. It will be around 4/5 weeks before he is entered into his first race. He will be trained by Liam McCormack. His sister " Nametab Delta " was sold 4 weeks ago, and will race in Hull.

NAMETAB APACHE
" Jack " is recovering from Kennel Cough, and is getting a 1 to 1 treatment from me in a warm environment. He has been brought indoors, in a warm place, and will be getting the best of attention for the next 4/8 weeks. I will enter him for a race before his time runs out, and if he improves, as I fully expect him too, he will be placed for sale once more.

OKEE DANCER
Okee Dancer won his heat in the first round of the Kudos Sprint at Cork on Sat night, in 17.71. This was only his second look around the track, and we hope he will go faster this coming Saturday in the semi finals. He has a good draw being in Trap 4. Very unlucky at the first bend. He was leading about half a length, but went to cut in and the 3 dog bumped him and knocked him into the 2 dog, which took him out again. In trap 3 it would have been a different story, but thats dogs for you.

NAMETAB APACHE
" Jack ", is also for sale. One of the last pups from Jamacian Hero, he has been reared by us in a group of 4. Stop Press: " Jack " is in his first race from trap 6 in an N3 525 on Friday 22nd Feb at Thurles. He is in against some good puppies from the Liam Callaghan ( Cork ) and Graham Holland ( Golden ) kennels
We knew he would have a difficult race, being from Trap 6. He exited the boxes and after 3 strides, moved in on the 5 dog. He was last going down the back straight, but came round the last bend tight against the rails to finish 6th, with just 3 lengths covering the field. He improved his time by another 30 spots, so he is going the right way.

NAMETAB DELTA
Daphne was called in as first reserve at Thurles tonight. She was in trap 1 in her first race, a 360 sprint. She was quick away, and always led, winning by 4 lengths in a time of 19.95. There was no trouble in the race, and I was very pleased with her, as she has always been quick away in all of her trials. I think 525 may be a bit too far for her, but we shall see. SOLD WITHIN 24 HOURS OF ADVERTISING

NAMETAB DELTA
A very young bitch who has had a season back in June, and has schooled very well. She currently weighs 61 pounds, een well hunted and well reared. The only reason she is in the sale is to give someone a chance to have a genuine young bitch in their kennels. as we have another of this age, but will require more time. As all other dogs I have sold, she has never been injured, is a quiet bitch, eats well, and will make someone a good , genuine runner. She is a wide runner and fast away, only has 3 official marks on her card at the moment, winning ALL 3 trials. The puppy she beat in her first official trial around Thurles, has been around Thurles track on 5 official trials previously. Daphne trialled again at Thurles yesterday, but missed the break. She overtook the dog in front of her on the third bend, and won by 3 lengths. This makes 3 wins from 3 trials for this very young bitch, and dont ask me what the going was, because it was absolutley slow again.

The 3 Pups
Rooney, Dapne and Jack, all had a solo at Donneskeigh schooling track this morning. This was the second time in the traps at Donneskeigh, and their respective times were, Rooney 18-69, Daphne 18-55 and Jack 18-73. We have done no work with these pups whatsoever, indeed the 2 dogs are still out in the field, so I am very pleased as all 3 would qualify on the track.

TRAFFIC COMMAND
I heard that Rocky won his second trial at Swindon recently in 29.26. That puts him straight into A1 grade. He has had to get used to a new kennel in the UK, and get accustommed to the UK traps. I sold this dog for handy money, and I am convinced he will be a good minor Open Race dog in the UK. Go on my son!!!!!!!!!
STOP PRESS: I have just noticed in Wednesdays Racing Post, that "Rocky" is in Heat 2 of the Hunt Cup at Reading tonight. Personally I think this distance may be a bit to far for him at this stage, and not having a look round at Reading is also of further concern. Best of luck tonight " Rocky " and I know Darryl wouldnt have thrown you in at the deep end if he didnt think you were capable of putting up a good show. No luck for " Rocky ". The stats read Slow away, hit rails at 1. I would think if he is entered at Swindon in a 480 or 509 next time, it would be a good time to back him.
The Blues Brothers

These are 2 Saplings being bred from Ningbo Jack x Bantiss Princess. They are being reared by my good friend John Moyles, from whom I have had 2 very good puppies from in the past.
This picture is taken from Johns Blogsite, and the one on the left is my dog, which I have named " Gilly " because he has an ear mark GIL in one ear. I have named him NAMETAB APPOLLO
John has thought a lot of this litter from very early days, and it looks as if his instincts have been proved correct.

RETIREMENT BECKONS
Creaking Bones has been retired, and will shortly be off to Latvia. He will be greatly missed by us, but as we have a 7 year old Greyhound in the house, we cant take them all, and he is a big dog, with a beautiful nature. Even as he was waiting to go for his operation, two small cats appeared about 3 feet from his nose, and he never blinked an eye at the. Was he a good racer?? You bet he was, and it was just a shame we could never get to the bottom of his career ending injury. He was castrated, vaccinated for Rabies and Parvo virus, and micro chipped. He came out of the surgery wagging his tail and jumped straight up into the car, without a bother. I have a feeling he may be thinking like this today!!!!!!!!
