Hooray, after 3 months of getting this dog fighting fit, he is in his first race at Thurles on Friday 8th Dec. Now, not wishing to be overconfident, he recorded an 18-11 in an unrecorded trial on Tuesday. I think a nice bet will be on its way tomorrow night, and hopefully at decent odds. Well, he won his first race, and led from trap to line. I got 2/1, but not the amount I wanted, and he finished at 4/5f. He ran cleanly and well, opening up a 3 length gap coming out of the 3rd bend, but it was a cold night, and he cramped on the run in. The line came just in time, as by the 5th bend all the other dogs had gone past him. The wait was worth it once again.
